Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) was again awarded as The 2nd Most Sustainable University in Indonesia in the 2024 UI Greenmetric ranking. It is the fifth (quintrick) for UNDIP achieving 2nd rank after four consecutive times in 2020-2023 occupying the second position.
The announcement of the UI Greenmetric ranking was delivered on Tuesday, 17th December 2024, at the Announcement and Awarding of the 2024 UI Greenmetric Award National. This award ceremony was held at Padjadjaran University, Bandung. After being announced by Dr. Junaidi as Vice Chairman of UI Greenmetric, the award certificate was handed over to the Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Suharnomo, by the Chairman of UI Greenmetric, Prof. Riri Fitri Sari.

Receiving the award, UNDIP Rector, Prof. Suharnomo said that UNDIP is very committed to supporting all indicators in UI GreenMetric. Several innovations related to sustainable technology and based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been carried out by Undip in recent years. Environmental conservation is also carried out periodically at Undip, including tree planting, plant maintenance, animal conservation, spreading fish seeds, cleaning rivers, and so on.
The second-best ranking of sustainable campuses was achieved by UNDIP among 183 universities in Indonesia in 2024. In addition to being the Second-Best Sustainable University, UNDIP also received a Trees Rating of 4.5 (out of the highest level of 5 Trees Rating). Trees Rating is an assessment of the achievement of green campuses achieved by universities.
